Minutes of Annual General meeting held on 3 June 2023

at New Lynn Friendship club hall,

3063 New North Road, New Lynn, Auckland.

The meeting started at 10.15 a.m. after serving. Bharatbhai Parikh explained the safety rules to all members attending the meeting. The members from the youth wing were in attendance for the first joint AGM.


The scheduled entertainment program started with the prayer which was performed by the members of the youth wing. We honoured our senior past committee member. As per our routine birthdays’ celebration, we invited the members who were born in the month of May first followed by members born in the month of June. Birthday cards were given to each member.


Mahendrabhai Patel presented an audited financial report to the meeting for approval. His presentation was clear and accurate will all financial transactions were carried out by our organization. This includes the grant from various organisations, funds received from food stalls by senior and youth wing, and major grant received from the lottery board. The expenses were clearly recorded. The mega celebration expenses were clearly explained. The current financial status at kiwi bank were reported. The financial report was approved by all 220 members present at the meeting.


Kiritbhai Thacker highlighted all the activities carried out by GSNZ during financial year 2022/2023. GSNZ has achieved its goal of youth wing formation and mega celebration. He thanked all the members and committee members for supporting him.


Chirag Tailor and Dharti Shukla introduced youth team members to the meeting. They thanked Dharmendrabhai Mehta and Kiritbhai for their support and guidance for the success of their activities. Dharmendrabhai outlined the activities and progress of the youth wing.


Bharatbhai K Parikh Placed a motion for approval of amendments of following clauses of GSNZ constitution. These are 4.6 & 6.1 related to membership requirement for voting at the election and eligibility for Executive committee position.


The addition of clause 6.2(f) is for protecting the privacy of our organization by not allowing executive committee members to hold similar positions with other organisations. After lengthy discussions by various individuals, the addition of the clause is approved. The meeting closed at 1.05 p.m. Parbhubhai Desai chanted the bhojan mantra before tasty lunched was served. We booked two rooms to facilitate meeting and lunch arrangement for all the members at the meeting. The lunch menu consisted of rice, dal, saak, puri, sweet and farsan Sweet was donated by Sarojben Patel and farasan was
donated by another member. Everyone enjoyed the meal.
